Thursdays: Sperryville Summer Concert Series at River District Arts

Now in its sixth season, the Sperryville Summer Concerts series is a beloved Thursday evening ritual in the River District. The season kicked off on May 21 with Rebecca Porter Music, whose set fused honky-tonk with Shenandoah roots sounds to open the year.

The format is straightforward and reliably enjoyable: gates and food trucks open at 5pm, giving you time to settle in, grab dinner, and find your spot before music starts at 6pm and runs through 8pm. Admission is free.

Saturdays: Collective Canvas Art Workshops at The Marketplace

On the second Saturday of each month, the Confluence Gallery inside The Marketplace hosts the Collective Canvas series — free, interactive art workshops and live demonstrations by rotating local and regional artists. The series runs from 2–4pm, June through November 2026.

The first session is June 14, featuring portrait painter Sam Grantham in a meet-the-artist event tied to his current show, "The Spirit Moved Me." Grantham's vibrant figurative portraits have been on view at the Confluence Gallery through June, and the June 14 appearance gives visitors a chance to hear directly from the artist about his process and inspiration.
