A Fall Tradition Worth Building a Day Around

RAPPtoberfest has become one of the more reliable dates on the Rappahannock County fall calendar — the kind of event where you can count on authentic German food and beverages and a stretch of lawn lined with polished antique cars. It's a fundraiser at heart, with proceeds going toward scholarships at Wakefield Country Day School, which gives the day a community-first feel that's distinct from a typical festival stop.

Live music and the antique car show round out the afternoon — worth a slow walk-through even if you came only for the food. It's the kind of unhurried, well-run county event that rewards showing up with an appetite and no particular schedule.

Make a Day of Rappahannock County

Because Wakefield sits within Rappahannock's orbit, RAPPtoberfest pairs naturally with the rest of a county day trip. If your route brings you through the area, consider checking current hours before visiting nearby shops and studios, since small-town business schedules can shift seasonally.
